Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Mystic Lilac

Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Mystic LilacHooray! New Sally Hansen Xtreme wear colors for Fall 2010! The Xtreme wear line is by far my favorite drugstore line of nail polish. Fairly inexpensive and trendy colors with new releases a couple of times a year. Not much to complain about!

Mystic Lilac didn’t disappoint. It is a dusty lilac with aqua microglitter. It sounds ugly, but it is SO PRETTY! Even as a creme I would love this, but the aqua microglitter adds such an interesting dimension to this polish.

The aqua microglitter is quite subtle. From a distance it just adds a little sparkle to the polish, but up close (even in indoor lighting) it’s very obvious that the microglitter is the aqua color.

Sally Hansen Mystic LilacMy only complaint about this polish is the application. Generally application of Xtreme Wear polishes is very good, but this polish is very thin. I had to use four coats in order to get opaque coverage.

The only place I’ve seen a display of these new colors is at Ulta. Usually Wal-Greens gets them, so hopefully they’ll be popping up at Wal-Greens soon. The good news is Sally Hansen usually incorporates their new colors into their permanent collection. So even if you don’t manage to find one of the new displays, not all hope is lost :)

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!
