The Olympics are (almost) here! The opening ceremony is Friday so now is a perfect time to start planning your Olympic nails. I did an entire post of patriotic nail ideas, so if you want to an American themed manicure for the games check out that post here.
Below the jump are a couple of nail art ideas I came up with. I’d love to hear some of your ideas!
My first Olympic themed manicure is an obvious nod to the host city, London. This is very similar to my Royal Wedding Manicure, I just used Orly Rage to add a metallic aspect since the Olympics are about winning that gold medal!
I really love the way this manicure turned out. The metallic is great for summer and the Union Jack isn’t too over powering being on just one nail. For the Union Jack I used L’Oreal Jet Set to Paris as the base and just drew the Union Jack using nail art polishes from the LA Colors Art Deco line.
This Olympic manicure is a bit more obvious but I love it because it’s super festive! The Olympic rings aren’t as hard to get on your nail as you might think. Just use a large dotting tool (I used a DIY dotting tool) and make a large dot with the color. Let that color dry then make a smaller dot in white. Viola! Olympic rings!
The polishes I used for my Olympic manicure are OPI Just Groovy, wet n wild Wild Shine Red Red, Maybelline Express Finish Black Onyx, Julep Daisy and Essie Mojito Madness.

I had seen on a blog what either was Photoshoped Olympic rings or a transfer/sticker, was not sure. While this is not perfect it works & I am going to try it. Thanks so much.
I hope it works out for you! My rings definitely aren’t perfect but from a distance it’s hard to see the imperfections
The second one is so colorful, I might have to try it myself. I can’t resist.
You should give it a try! Super easy and so cute.
What a great way to do the rings!!!
I tried doing them several other ways when the dot inside a dot hit me. I felt so stupid! lol
You’ve inspired me to do an Olympic mani too! I love how the designs you did are both simple and very on-theme
Thank you! Hope yours turn out well
Love the second one!
Thanks!
