The end of last year I discovered Market Street Soap Works. Occasionally on Saturdays the boy and I go to the Charlotte 7th Street Public Market. It’s a great place to grab lunch and shop for local products. One Saturday I was looking for a Christmas present for my mom. The Market Street Soap Works table caught my eye. I picked up a bar of soap for her and one for myself. I was so impressed (as was my mother) by the soap I started researching the company a bit.
As it turns out, Market Street Soap Works is out of Fort Mill, SC (just a tad south of Charlotte). All their products are made by hand using all natural ingredients and not tested on animals. I followed their Facebook page and called it a day until several months later Joel, the owner/maker of MSSW products, posted he was working on nail lacquer. I more or less jumped out of my seat in excitement.
I realize none of you are shocked I decided to make Pearl Blue my first MSSW polish. I mean….it’s blue….and sparkly. Basically my two favorite qualities in any nail polish. Pearl Blue is a sheer pale blue packed with sparkle. While it walks the line of going into the frosted category it definitely avoids it and instead has a lovely glow. It’s such a refreshing polish for the warmer weather.
This polish does have a sheer formula but it is buildable. I used 4 coats in my swatches. I had no issues with bubbling or the polish being runny.
Overall I was very happy with this polish and definitely want to try others from MSSW. They have some really cool and unique polishes (um, Neon Yellow Hex Glitter….Chrome Hearts!? Yes please!).
